Posted on April 22nd, 2009 by Biker under Eco Friendly, Iron Biker News.

I don’t know about you but this Earth Day feels different to me, definitely some wind at our backs, and all Environmental efforts for a change.
New projects with big time funding behind it can now be seen in Wind, Solar and Alternative Fuels such as; Bio and Hydrogen. All have taken hold and continue to grow. Now being Green is the Trendy and Right thing to do. Green is the New Black.

Way back in 1989, while attending Pace University in Briarcliff Manor at the time, we celebrated Earth Day. It was the first time they had celebrated Earth Day since 1970.  Now Earth Day has grown into an official date on the calendar. The first official “Earth Day” was April 22, 1970. The idea was that of Gaylord Nelson, a US Senator. The official Earth Day date of the United Nations however coincides with the March Equinox,  the day the Earth shifts on its Axis and our days become longer.

Xtreme Green Launch in 2009

HENDERSON, Nev., March 17 /PRNewswire/ — Xtreme Motorsports International, Inc. (Pink Sheets: XTMM - News), through its wholly owned subsidiary, YamaBuggy Sales & Distribution, Inc., is pleased to announce that in conjunction with Quicksand Performance the all new Hydrogen Hybrid XYB-400 Side X Side will be unveiled to select Dealers and Investors in Newport Beach, CA on Friday, March 20, 2009.

The all new XYB-400 will feature a Hydrogen System designed by Hydrogen Hybrid Corp. (Pink Sheets: HYDB - News) and is designed to improve mileage, and further reduce emissions. The company is in final stages of EPA testing, and expects to receive confirmation on the XYB-400 passing both the EPA and CARB standards without the Hydrogen System by early May 2009. “We anticipate there will be a tremendous interest in our development towards a ‘Greener’ off-road vehicle and using Hydrogen Systems initially will provide a very efficient and cost effective solution. In addition we are researching and developing an all electric version which will be added into the Xtreme Green lineup,” stated Walt Tatum, Chairman of the Board.

“In February we announced The XYB-1300, which was unveiled at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, and now we are demonstrating our move into the Xtreme Green phase which has been in the planning and development stages since we decided to build the Brand and develop specific levels of performance to meet our ‘Mild to Wild’ mix of vehicles. We introduced the smaller 400 CC Buggy first, and in February we introduced the 1300 CC powerhouse, and soon we are going to fill in the offering with a mid 600 - 700 CC vehicle, rounding out our XYB series,” stated Omar Deen, President of Quicksand Performance.

Mr. Tatum added, “The decision to adapt our vehicles to a ‘Green’ standard has been our vision from the moment we acquired the exclusive distribution rights for North America. We knew we wanted to go ‘Green’, and we knew technology existed to help us get there, but our initial focus was perfecting the design and ergonomics of the vehicle, and introducing the different levels of power and performance. Now we are ready to move forward and do our part in making off-road enthusiasts aware of the positive environmental choices they can make.”

Hybrid Mania - Get a Bike

Posted on June 20th, 2008 by Biker under Eco Friendly, Hydrogen On Demand, Iron Biker News.

There is so much about Hybrids these days, why don’t these people just get a bike? Why because its not always the best method of transportation for family’s of 4 or more- side car included. The good news is a lot of this Hydrogen on Demand technology will also be useful on our Bikes. Imagine going NYC to Daytona on less than a single tank of gas and hydrogen. That would be very cool..

But now we are no longer limited to a boring Prius and other soft and non-descript looking vehicles. Check out this monster recently unveiled in Austin Texas by Ronn Motors. Photos taken by Ronn Motors. If you have to ride on 4 wheels, tis is the car to do it in.

Hydrogen on Demand is looking like the Hybrid methodology of choice. Easily adaptable by any or most engines, it simply increases the fuel efficiency of our current vehicles through the simple process of separating Hydrogen molecules from Oxygen found in water and emits nothing harmful to the environment.

Best of all, it wont take years to recoup the cost of trading in for a hybrid. I cant wait to test it on my 69 Camaro and my wife’s Pt Cruiser. Not sure about installing it on the 73 Triumph yet… Stay tuined, we will report back on results, after we install a kit or two.
